Serial – Best Podcast Ever
Who would have thought that the best show of the year is not on TV but is a bloody podcast. It is called Serial and it is just brilliant. Actually more than brilliant. Serial is a podcast exploring a nonfiction story over multiple episodes. First released in October 2014, it is a spinoff of the radio program This American Life. Season 1 is an investigation into a 1999 Baltimore murder. Hae Min Lee was an 18-year-old student at Woodlawn High School. Lee was last seen at approximately 3:00 p.m. on January 13, 1999. Her corpse was discovered on February 9 in Leakin Park and identified two days later, with the case immediately being treated as a homicide. Lee’s ex-boyfriend Adnan Musud Syed was arrested on February 28 at 6 a.m. and charged with first-degree murder, which led to “some closure and some peace” for Lee’s family. A memorial service for Lee was held on March 11 at Woodlawn High School. Syed was found guilty of Lee’s murder on February 25, 2000 after a six-week trial, and was given a life sentence despite pleading his innocence.

Le Triangle – Paris Sky Scraper Doomed?
This would be the first sky scraper in paris in over 43 years – but now it looks like it’s not gonna happen. A ballot turned down some technical permission – but will it still happen? Co-architect Jacques Herzog, who along with Pierre de Meuron designed the Tate Modern and Beijing’s Olympic stadium, said its shape would “limit the shadow on neighbours” and it would be highly ecological, using “wind and the sun to produce energy”. Watch this space. The pictures look spectacular.

The Imitation Game – Benedict Cumberbatch
Benedict Cumberbatch is possibly the greatest actor we have right now and The Imitation Game is a great great movie about the sad story of how the English mathematician and logician, Alan Turing, helps crack the Enigma code during World War II and how the savior of western civilization was treated after the war had ended.
But definitely funnier is this:
