Julian Rosefeldt’s new thirteen-channel work Manifesto questions the role of the artist in society today. Australian actor, Cate Blanchett, performs the manifestos as a series of striking monologues.
The installation in the amazing Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin – a part of the Nationalgalerie – draws on the writings of Futurists, Dadaists, Fluxus artists, Situtationists and Dogma 95, and the musings of individual artists, architects, dancers and filmmakers. Passing the philosophies of Claes Oldenburg, Yvonne Rainer, Kazimir Malevich, André Breton, Elaine Sturtevant, Sol LeWitt, Jim Jarmusch, and other influencers through his lens, Rosefeldt has edited and reassembled a collage of artists’ manifestos. This is probably the most powerful exhibition TrendEngel has seen in years. Mind-blowing and life altering. Honestly.
3 guys from Paris created Papier Tigre – a very different brand that takes old school craftsmanship and takes it to another level. Beautiful paper products that will make you happy. We really like what the guys do. One store in Paris and now one in London. You will see Papier Tigre all over the place in a few months or years – and hands down one of the coolest logos around.
P & T is a specialty tea company founded in Berlin. They do tea better than anybody else. The tea tastes better, looks better and is much more fun. TrendEngel expects P&T to conquer the world – soon. Green Tea Imperial Dragon is our favorite. So far only in Berlin. Not in Berlin? Shop online. Ah yes, btw. P&T stands for Paper and Tea…

Taglio is located in Milan, at number 10 via Vigevano. On the ground floor of a typically Milanese block of flats with communal balconies, it is just a few feet away from the Navigli canals. The idea was to create a multifunctional space where a restaurant, a food shop, a bar and a café could coexist – a place designed to be bustling all day long, where customers could indulge in the ritual of coffee drinking or enjoying gourmet food.
A patchwork of blackboards covers the entire counter. From a long, cedar-wood bar the staff can be seen at work in the kitchen. The opposite wall is decorated with drawings by the food illustrator Gianluca Biscalchin. Globe light-bulbs attached to a dense network of copper tubes illuminate the rooms.
The food is divine and the concept genius. Why can’t we all have a Taglio in our neighborhood.
One of the fashion trends for the auto-winter is – yes it really is – the good old patchwork.Just look at the patchworked textures at Etro, Chloé, or Valentino, where mixed media made for a truly big impact. This really looks good, doesn’t it?

Paul Smith who has been a regular user of the 849 for many years wished to pay a distinctive tribute to Caran d’Ache to celebrate the 100th anniversary.
Thirty shades that featured in Paul Smith’s recent fashion collections have been added to 70 of Caran d’Ache’s colour chart selected by him. The Caran d’Ache craftsmen have then produced the designer’s special assortment of 100 pieces, where each 849 pen carries his signature. This harmonious, stunning composition of colours calls for a special presentation box worthy of its contents. Caran d’Ache and Paul Smith have created a stylish metal box in immaculate white that dramatically highlights the colours inside. A narrow window in the top of the box subtly reveals the band of stripes that is his famous motif.
This creative collaboration has also produced a limited edition of 849 that has become a fashion icon, in 10 exclusive pastel shades selected by Paul Smith.
