Rex Orange County is probably a genius. i have no proof or hard evidence but listening to his fragile songs with perfect rythm and tone he just has to be. And if not? Who cares. His sound is just brilliant. 10/10 is a great example for my claim.

Song of the Week – Haim – Hallelujah – Episode 79
Haim are close to my heart. They are underrated for sure and have music in their blood. Hallelujah is some sugary, sweet song. Just about right for the holidays.
Song of the Week – Amason – You Don’t Have to Call Me – Episode 78
Amason is one of my favorite bands of this decade. Sweden at its best. Their new record has more warmths and cosyness than the whole back catalogue of fucking Ed Sheeran… You Don’t Have dot Call Me – is just another example of their charm.
Song of the Week – Sinead O Brien -Limbo – Episode 77
This irish poet reminds me of Anne Clark meets Kate Nash meets The Fall meets Kate Tempest… or something. For sure worth checking out. Sinead O Brien with Limbo
Song of the Week – Spendtime Palace – Offshoot – Episode 76
This american band is one of the hottest combos on the planet. Real Rock’n Roll is not easy to do. Their new song “Offshoot” is not as good as last years “Blackout Controla” but still a gem. Spendtime Palace rock. You’ll be the judge:
Song of the Week – The Underground Youth – Too Innocent to be True – Episode 75
These guys are from Berlin and are probably depressed…in a good way. Nick Cave meets Jesus and Mary Chain…in a good way.
Song of the Week – Marika Hackman – The One – Episode 74
Marika Hackman is doing it all on her own. Every instrument, every beat. Then she goes on the road and is asking The Big Moon to Play with her. The One is one of about a dozen great songs from her new record
Sog of the Week – Surf Curse – Hour of the Wolf – Episode 73
Surf curse is one of these dark pop meets post punk bands that are now surfacing left and right – surfing the trend so to speak; but man they are amazing. Hour of the Wolf is a little taster:
Song of the Week – Pumarosa – Fall Apart – Episode 72
Priestess was Pumarosa’s big break through; and then? Not much else. ’til now that is. Fall Apart is a return to form.
Song of the Week – Metronomy – I Hear Wedding Bells – Episode 71
Metronomy – did they ever release a bad song? – this is what I call a rethorical question. Wedding Bells is 120% Metronomy – or more.
