And here is the new wide chair with a narrow and foldable seat”. So wrote Gio Ponti in 1970 when describing the launch of a chair that differed from all the others. A chair for conversation, reading a book or watching TV. Minimal overall dimensions, versatile, movable. Light but solid, easy, comfortable and affordable. A chair for everyone, for every occasion, for indoor and outdoor use, for a house that adapts to our needs.
“To sit comfortably, crossing your legs, you need a small seat and lots of backrest, reclining like this”, said Gio Ponti. This is a classic and now it is available again fabricated by our italian friends at Molenti & C
How Smart Is Your Favorite Music – How Smart Are You?
OK. This is a study by a guy from Cal Tech – pitting the SAT scores of some college kids against their taste in music. The result. We know what music very intelligent people listen to. There are some surprises. Rather stupid people listen to Jazz, Beyonce, Lil Wayn, Gospel or Soca. Smart People like Beethoven, Counting Crows, Ben Folds, Sufjan Stevens, Radiohead and (a little surprising) U2. On thing TrendEngel can not really understand: Why isn’t Nickelback in the middle instead of dead last? Why?

Zach Galifianakis Interviews Brad Pitt – Funny or Die
TrendEngel praised Between Two Ferns, the hilarious show by actor/comedian Zach Galifianakis a long time ago. But this is probably his best effort yet. Brad Pit is interviewed and has to sit through some harsh questions. You gotta watch this. You gotta (sorry about the picture quality but they wouldn’t allow us to post the HD quality clip):

Gengahr – New American sensation
When TrendEngel had the chance to see Gengahr perform recently by pure stroke of luck the expectations were low. What a mistake. Great live band from the US with its first double A-side: Powder / Bathed in Light. Watch this space. There is more to come. Listen to this:

BWGH for Puma – Cool Kicks
BWGH (Brooklyn We Go Hard) is one of the cooler brands of the hour. Their collaboration wit Puma is pretty rad. Don’t you think?

Mustafa’s Gemüsekebap – DER beste Kebap
Berlin is the world capital of the Kebap and the best Kebap in Berlin is one where meat is not the key. The Gemüsekebap (vegetarian kebab) at Mustafa’s on Mehringerdamm is a legend. People stand in line for an hour without hesitation at any given time of the day. The star is the combination of caramelized eggplants, peppers, cheese, spices and lots more. This has to be experienced to believe it. And if you really want it you can have the Gemüsekebap with meat as well. Perfect.
